South Australia is an outstanding place to invest.
KPMG's recent Competitive Alternatives study ranks Adelaide first as the least costly of Australian cities to set up and do business, making it the smart HQ choice for organisations thinking about entering the Asia-Pacific market. This assessment is only strengthened by Adelaide 's exceptional industrial relations record, and its stable, highly skilled and educated workforce.
In fact, Adelaide rated as the most cost competitive of the Australian cities analysed in the study in all 17 sectors surveyed. These include aerospace, automotive, chemicals, electronics, plastics, biotechnology, software design, and web development.
Adelaide was rated in the top three locations in the world for key industry sectors including: automotive, food processing, metal components, plastics, advanced software development, web and multimedia development.
When compared to 25 similar sized cities around the world, Adelaide was ranked third, having a significant cost advantage over similar sized cities in the United States (9%) and Japan (30%).
