SABAN Ambassadors
Ambassadors appointed to the SABAN program are high-level business leaders and innovative members of the community with specific links and spheres of influence into business sectors of interest to maximise the future growth of the economy of South Australia.

They are appointed on the basis of their geographical location and business or cultural links to specific businesses and other pursuits of interest to South Australia.

Ambassadors are South Australians or other persons with strong links to South Australia by way of their business, academic, or other professional and personal achievements.

They will be persons of the highest business and personal integrity.

In summary, the selection criteria for the position of a SABAN ambassador is that the person should have attributes including the following:

•    Be involved in an industry sector in line with the South Australian Government’s priorities (e.g. mining, defence, education)
•    Have a high level of expertise in an area in line with the State Strategic Plan
•    Reside in a geographic location compatible with the South Australian Government’s priorities
•    Currently investing in SA.

SABAN Appointment Process
Recommendations or nominations for the position of Ambassador can be received via the following channels:
 
•    SABAN Committee (See below)
•    Advantage Adelaide Board Member
•    Other Ambassadors
•    South Australian Government
•    Australian Government
•    Senior Business Leaders
•    University or Alumni.

Nominations will be referred to the SABAN Reference Committee that includes representatives of Advantage Adelaide and the Department of Trade and Economic Development (DTED).

Nomination applications deemed appropriate will be presented to the Board of Advantage Adelaide prior to them being forwarded to Premier of South Australia for final consideration and approval.

Persons appointed as SABAN ambassadors will receive formal written advice from the Premier of South Australia together with a certificate of appointment for a two-year period.
